Job Description

This role involves supporting the Engineering team in the Final Assembly area for electronic control units (ECUs). The primary focus will be on supporting new equipment launches by coordinating with outside vendors to ensure timely completion of projects. Responsibilities include mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to support launch efforts and current production improvement events. The role involves working with automated assembly equipment such as Fanuc and Yamaha robotics, and PLCs. Modifications to existing layouts, equipment, tooling, or fixtures may be required using AutoCAD or SolidWorks. The position may also involve creating and updating documentation for team members and maintenance staff and utilizing SQL databases to review process data.

Responsibilities

Support new equipment launches by coordinating with outside vendors.

Engage in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to aid launch efforts and production improvement events.

Work with automated assembly equipment including robotics and PLCs.

Use AutoCAD or SolidWorks to modify layouts, equipment, tooling, or fixtures.

Create and update documents for team members and maintenance crew.

Utilize SQL databases for data review of processes.

Essential Skills

Manufacturing engineering expertise

Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Experience in lean manufacturing

Strong vendor relationship management

Experience with capital projects

Experience with equipment installation

Electrical and electronics knowledge

Mechanical engineering skills

Experience with plant layout and fixture design

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or a related field

3+ years of project management experience with equipment installations

Experience with outsourced automation equipment and vendors is highly preferred

Knowledge of PLC ladder logic

Programming capabilities in PLC/GLC, C++, and Surface Mount Technology

SQL experience

Work Environment

The position is based in an electronic manufacturing facility, primarily in a clean-room environment requiring smocks and ESD shoes. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with various groups such as Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The work will be a mix of on-floor and desk work, depending on project requirements. The organization offers six paid holidays and ten PTO days to accommodate additional shutdowns, plant closures, or personal time off.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrodsburg, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
