Summary You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the Expeditionary Maintenance Center of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER. Responsibilities You will read and interpret sketches, electrical, or hydraulic schematics for optimal heavy mobile equipment performance. You will determine sequence of operations, skill set requirements, material, tooling, and facilities needed to accomplish heavy mobile equipment work assignments. You will follow verbal instructions from supervisor while performing heavy mobile equipment repairs. You will use hoisting equipment to lift heavy items (e.g., engine parts) on heavy mobile equipment. You will disassemble, inspect, repair, or replace diesel or gasoline engines and parts (e.g., injection valves, cylinder, heads, cylinder sleeves, pistons, rings, connecting rods, bearings, gaskets, crankshafts) during maintenance. You will determine malfunctions with mobile equipment to make repairs or replace defective parts.
