Urgent Need for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Greensburg, PA. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on AP work, values accuracy, and thrives in a supportive office environment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly vendor invoices and bills

Perform 3-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice)

Verify invoice accuracy, coding, and approvals

Prepare and run check batches

Process credit card statements and reconcile supporting documentation

Handle EFTs and auto-draft payments, ensuring timely and accurate posting

Collect, verify, and maintain W-9s

Assist with 1099 preparation at year-end

Enter and maintain vendor records in Microsoft Dynamics / Great Plains

Support general ledger coding (GL knowledge helpful but not required)

Assist with other clerical accounting duties as assigned

Maintain accurate filing and documentation according to established procedures

The organization is looking for someone who:

Has prior Accounts Payable experience and understands AP fundamentals

Has strong attention to detail and accuracy

Fits well into a small, close-knit office

Is comfortable with routine, consistent AP work

Demonstrates reliability and professionalism

Work Schedule:

Flexible schedule! Monday - Friday normal business hours

Total hours per week: 30-40 hours per week based on candidate preference

Required Skills & Tools

Accounts Payable experience (nonprofit experience a plus but not required)

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Great Plains preferred (system sunsetting in 2028)

Ability to learn new accounting systems and workflows

Education: Degree not required; Equivalent experience in AP accepted

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year experience in an accounts payable role or similar position.

Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment management.

Familiarity with three-way matching for invoice reconciliation.

Experience with electronic funds transfers (EFT) and credit card payment processing is preferred.

Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics or similar accounting software preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Basic understanding of general ledger entries is preferred but not required.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.
