Job Title: Sr. Accountant (Contract)

Contract length: 2-3 months ((potential to extend or convert if a future FTE opens)

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant professional who can step in and make an immediate impact. This is a hands-on role for someone who can quickly learn the company's processes, take ownership of core accounting functions, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. This position requires prior experience and the ability to work independently from day one.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities.

Review bank activity daily to monitor incoming cash.

Record and validate cash deposits.

Enter and validate AR invoices.

Ensure accurate entry and validation of pay applications prepared by Project Managers.

Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, confirming all figures reconcile correctly.

Perform detailed job costing and cost tracking.

Work within a standard costing environment.

Prepare and post job cost adjustments in the system.

Validate costs and maintain accurate job cost records.

Support a lighter month-end close process by maintaining strong accounting discipline throughout the month.

Perform bank reconciliations, transitioning from monthly to weekly.

Assist with intercompany accounting related to a subsidiary structure, including recording and tracking intercompany entries and monitoring intercompany balances.

Support light accounts payable tasks connected to intercompany activity.

Essential Skills

Proven experience in reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing software.

Strong understanding of journal entries, balance sheets, financial statements, and general ledger.

Prior job costing experience is strongly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite, working within a team of seven in the accounting department. The work culture is straightforward yet easy-going, emphasizing a 'can do' attitude. The environment supports a dynamic and engaging work atmosphere, focusing on integration of complex design-build projects. The team values each member and encourages career advancement. The dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.06/hr.
