Job Summary and Qualifications
The Supervisor of Rehab Therapy ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of a specific shift or segment of operations of the Rehab Therapy team. As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, the Supervisor coordinates appropriate staffing levels and treatment schedules and monitors the amount, @type, and quality of therapy services provided. The Supervisor guides the provision of therapeutic care to achieve optimal outcomes and excellence in patient satisfaction. The Supervisor may also function as a licensed therapist and administer therapy modalities and treatments as prescribed by the licensed physician.
Prepares and implements staffing schedules, adjusting as needed to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Helps determine category of admission (i.e., observation status or inpatient admission) and placement within the department in the absence of a case manager.Completes rounding on all therapy staff according to established time frames.
Serves as liaison between patients, families, staff, and physicians. Identifies patient complaints; resolves issues and reports to management.Identifies and communicates any quality, safety, or risk issues to the appropriate leader for resolution.
Ensures timely, accurate documentation of services according to hospital and departmental standards.
Ensures completion of daily charges. Compiles reports for chaplaincy services, social services, nursing administration, etc., and assists staff in completing other reports as needed to facilitate communication.Facilitates allocation of appropriate resources to ensure quality.Authorizes the procurement of supplies, equipment, etc., in emergent situations.
Fosters a culture promoting teamwork to accommodate departmental cooperation throughout the facility. Facilitates high patient satisfaction by supporting patient satisfaction strategies.
Serves as a mentor and professional role model for all staff.Reinforces training with staff. Ensures compliance with safety and other regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Assists the Program Director with interviewing applicants for open therapy positions.Assumes responsibility for resolving interdepartmental conflict, following the chain of command.Administers treatments and physical agents according to specialty, as prescribed by a referring physician.
Performs other duties as assigned.Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.
What qualifications you will need:
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Bachelors Degree in a Rehabilitative Science
(LPT) Licensed Physical Therapist, or (OT) Occupational Therapist, (SLP) Speech Therapist
