Primary Purpose :
Leads the organization's market intelligence, customer insight, and marketing performance measurement efforts within the clinical laboratory and healthcare diagnostics industry. Responsible for translating market research, customer journey analysis, and performance data into actionable strategies that drive growth, optimize the customer experience, and improve the effectiveness and return on investment of marketing initiatives. Partners closely with the vice president of Marketing and other Marketing leaders, Sales, Business Develop Operations, and executive leadership to ensure marketing strategy aligns with corporate strategy and is informed by data, understanding of customer needs, and responsive to evolving healthcare market dynamics.

Essential Functions :
Direct the design, execution, and analysis of primary and secondary market research focused on hospitals, health systems, payers, and clinicians
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of clinical laboratory markets, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and emerging trends
Establish research priorities to align with corporate and brand strategy
Lead customer journey mapping and customer experience analysis to identify opportunities to improve engagement, satisfaction, and retention across all customer touchpoints
Translate market research and customer insights into clear strategic recommendations that guide marketing, product positioning, pricing, and go-to-market decisions
Establish and oversee marketing performance measurement frameworks, including KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for campaigns, channels, and programs
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing efforts, including brand initiatives, cross-channel campaigns, and sales enablement, with a focus on ROI and continuous improvement
Partner with marketing channel owners to optimize campaigns based on data, testing, and insights
Lead, coach, and develop team members responsible for market research, analytics, and insights, ensuring high-quality, actionable deliverables
Ensure research methodologies, data sources, and analytical approaches are rigorous, compliant, and appropriate for healthcare and laboratory environments
Communicate research findings, customer insights, and performance results clearly and effectively to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Direct ad-hoc analysis and insight requests from Business Development and executive leadership
Lead vendor selection, contracting, and budget management of tools, vendors, and technologies related to market research, customer experience measurement, and marketing analytics
Develop and implement processes and standards to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of insights and reporting
Maintain ethical standards of behavior, data privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations
Demonstrate adaptability, innovation, and a continuous-improvement mindset in response to changing market conditions
Attend industry meetings, conferences, and training to maintain current knowledge of clinical laboratory, healthcare marketing, and analytics best practices

Physical and Other Requirements :
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Continuing Education: Continual assessment of current literature and best practices.
Travel: Ability to travel off-site 1%-20% of time.
Qualifications
Education
Required
Bachelor's Degree or better in Marketing
Preferred
Master's Degree or better in Marketing
Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, healthcare administration, data analytics, or a related field
Eight or more years of experience in market research, marketing analytics, or strategic marketing, preferably in healthcare, clinical laboratories, diagnostics, or life sciences
Three or more years of experience leading or managing teams and cross-functional initiatives
Demonstrated experience translating market and customer insights into strategic recommendations and measurable outcomes
Preferred
Master's degree in marketing, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field with a strong analytical or research emphasis
Experience with customer journey mapping, voice-of-the-customer programs, and marketing performance dashboards
Familiarity with healthcare regulatory environments and data privacy standards
