The Department of Children, Youth and Families is hiring a Communications Operations Architect! The Communications Operations Architect will serve as a strategic partner and operational architect for the agency's Communications Department, leading the development, improvement, and implementation of systems, tools, and processes that support effective internal and external communication. This role provides critical support in modernizing the agency's intranet, document management practices, policy workflows, and communication procedures to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities.
The position works collaboratively across Communications, IT, and agency leadership to design sustainable, user-centered solutions; strengthen cross-departmental workflows; and build the infrastructure necessary for consistent, timely, and high-quality communication. Through this work, the position enhances the employee experience and supports the agency's long-term strategic goals.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as the operational and systems architect for communication systems and functions
Lead intranet redesign planning and development
Develop and manage policy creation, editing, posting, and maintenance processes
Support intranet maintenance and Communications procedures documentation
Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years* of experience in designing, managing or improving organizational systems, workflows, or digital communications platforms

*Bachelor's degree in Communications, Information Science, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Communications or related degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SharePoint, Tridion, or similar enterprise content management systems
Experience with document management tools such as eDocs or comparable platforms
Familiarity with designing or improving policy governance workflows or policy lifecycle processes
Familiarity with conducting accessibility reviews or implementing ADA-compliant digital content
Experience coordinating with IT teams, vendors, or technical specialists on system development or platform improvements
Experience applying user-centered design principles to internal communication systems or tools
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
