Payroll Specialist (Immediate Coverage Needed)

Overview:

Our company is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to provide immediate coverage, handling payroll operations across multiple companies under one umbrella. This role requires strong technical skills using Paycor, extensive Excel experience, and the ability to process bi-weekly, multi-state payrolls, including garnishments and benefit deductions.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and manage bi-weekly payroll cycles for multiple entities in various states, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Utilize Paycor for employee data management, payroll runs, and reporting.

Maintain, analyze, and reconcile payroll data in Excel, including creating and managing spreadsheets for large data sets.

Administer garnishments and benefit deductions in accordance with legal and company requirements.

Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information at all times.

Collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payroll transactions.

Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions in a prompt, professional manner.

Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with end-to-end payroll processing for multiple companies in a shared services or umbrella environment.

Proficient in Paycor payroll software and advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).

In-depth understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance standards.

Proven track record handling wage garnishments, benefit deductions, and related payroll adjustments.

Ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and manage sensitive information.

Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

Additional Information:

Immediate coverage is required; candidates should be available to start as soon as possible.

This position may be contract or temporary with the possibility of extension.

Requirements - Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing.

Expertise in multi-state payroll operations and tax reporting.

Familiarity with Paycor payroll software.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data management.

Strong knowledge of garnishment calculations and benefit deductions.

Ability to manage payroll for multiple entities simultaneously.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills for resolving payroll-related issues.
