Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will play a key part in managing accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. Responsibilities:

Process and oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Perform detailed account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

Assist in maintaining the general ledger to ensure all financial data is up to date and accurate.

Collaborate with the Controller to streamline financial processes and support overall accounting operations.

Manage invoice entry and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.

Conduct periodic reviews of accounts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Support the preparation of corporate tax returns and assist with related tax activities as needed.

Utilize Epicor ERP software to execute accounting tasks and generate financial reports.

Contribute to cleanup efforts by identifying and correcting historical errors in financial records. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.

Experience working with Epicor ERP software is highly preferred.

Familiarity with corporate tax processes, including the preparation of tax returns.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
