Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Miamisburg, Ohio. In this contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of accounting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your critical thinking skills and expertise in accounts payable and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end close procedures, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Conduct account and bank reconciliations to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies.

Manage accounts payable processes, such as coding invoices, handling exceptions, and performing 3-way matching.

Investigate and resolve data errors in financial records with a focus on precision.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Analyze financial transactions and provide recommendations to improve efficiency.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

Support audits and provide necessary documentation as required.

Utilize critical thinking skills to address complex accounting challenges and provide solutions. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

Solid understanding of journal entries and account reconciliation processes.

Experience with bank reconciliations and accounts payable workflows.

Ability to code invoices and handle exceptions effectively.

Familiarity with 3-way matching and resolving discrepancies in financial records.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy.

Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance standards.
