Job Description:

Assists in the quality assurance program within the department and the hospital. Administers therapeutic gases, such as oxygen, and prescribed medications via inhalation, including bronchodilators and humidified gases. Administers positive pressure breathing treatments, including IPPB, Ezpap, CPAP, and Bipap, and monitors continuous ventilatory support. Performs regular equipment maintenance, preparation, cleaning, sterilization, calibration, repair testing, and evaluation. Participates in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and performs airway care, including tracheobronchial aspiration. Conducts pulse oximetry testing and pulmonary function testing according to defined procedures. Provides patient counseling in all aspects of respiratory care. Performs bronchial drainage and chest physiotherapy as outlined in department procedures and policies. Documents hospital procedures in the EMR, including charting, medication tracking, billing for RT services, and daily workflow. Plans and organizes the activities of the Respiratory Therapy Department, including equipment evaluation, manpower requirements, and continuing education programs. Supervises Respiratory Therapy department personnel, including hiring, evaluating, training, and ensuring the efficiency of the technical staff. Supervises and participates in the flow of work, ensuring the quality and efficiency of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]

Additional languages [Preferred]

Working knowledge of respiratory care, cardiology, and sleep lab departments [Preferred]

Strong organization skills [Required]

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills [Required]

Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff [Required]

Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite [Required]

Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals [Required]

Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance [Required]

Education:

Associate's [Required]

Field of Study:

In Respiratory Care or Healthcare Administration

Work Experience:

2+ years of Respiratory Care leadership experience [Required]

5+ years of Respiratory Care experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] AND NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Preferred]

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]

$79,402.93 - $147,697.47
