Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced oncology center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and recording patients' information. This role involves working with approximately 50 patients per day, requiring comfort with frequent communication.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and manage front desk operations.

Answer phone calls and provide excellent customer service.

Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate records.

Record and manage patient information using electronic health records.

Assist with patient care, including phlebotomy and taking manual blood pressure readings.

Educate patients and verify insurance details.

Provide administrative support and manage patient intake.

Essential Skills

6 months of experience as a medical assistant, preferably recent.

Strong customer service skills.

Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic health records.

Ability to take manual blood pressure readings and perform phlebotomy.

Experience in patient education and appointment scheduling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to multitask and work effectively in teams.

No certification required.

Long-term career goals in the healthcare industry.

Work Environment

This position is based in an outpatient cancer facility with working hours from Monday to Friday, either 7:45 am to 4:15 pm or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The environment is compassionate, focused on making a difference in patients' lives, with opportunities for growth within the organization. The employer will assist with additional certification and training costs. Employees are eligible for benefits three months after conversion and receive 10 paid holidays per year.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lady Lake, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
