Overview
The Field Coordinator - Construction and Maintenance is responsible for overseeing contractors to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within approved budgets. This role serves as a liaison between engineering, operations, and contractors, ensuring work readiness, material availability, quality execution, and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Support contractor activities in the field by helping monitor safe work practices and escalating safety concerns to supervision when identified.
Assist with coordination of work to help ensure quality standards and construction specifications are followed.
Participate in work planning activities by reviewing job packages for completeness and identifying potential issues prior to construction.
Conduct field readiness reviews to confirm jobs are prepared for contractor execution before work is released.
Help coordinate outages and switching activities under the direction of operations or supervisory staff.
Verify required materials and documentation are available to support contractor productivity and communicate gaps to supervision.
Assist with identifying and resolving field obstacles such as access issues, design clarifications, or material shortages, escalating as needed
Support schedule tracking by providing status updates and progress information to supervision.
Review contractor invoices for completeness and accuracy and route discrepancies or concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
Perform field reviews during and after construction to verify work aligns with approved designs and report deficiencies for correction.
Support communication between contractors, engineering, operations, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.
Maintain documentation related to work progress, field observations, and readiness reviews.
Work with customers to arrange outages and obtain property owners permission to work on their property.
Address and resolve customer concerns related to contractor-performed work.
Coordinate contractors' work during emergency work or storms.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma GED
5+ years experience in electric distribution system construction, maintenance, repair, and operation as well as Journeyman classification.
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
Class A CDL License certified under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and a Class A CDL with the following endorsements: air brakes, tankers, and hazardous materials. Required
Preferred Qualifications
It is preferred that the incumbent live within 25 miles of report location or be willing to relocate.
Good mathematical, literacy and communications skills.
Demonstrated proficiency or knowledge of the Company's Mobile, Work Management, Outage Management, and Mapping applications and associated technologies.
Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical principles associated with the construction, maintenance and operation of electric distribution systems.

Remote Work
