Patricia Wesson with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations and business services of a school district in Westport, Oregon. This role is essential in ensuring fiscal integrity, providing leadership to various teams, and contributing to the district's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, budgeting, and financial planning.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the operations of the Business Office, Payroll, and Benefits to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain the fiscal health of the district.
Provide guidance and leadership to school administrators and department supervisors in managing financial services.
Monitor and analyze financial data to support strategic planning and long-term goals.
Manage and oversee the budgeting process, including forecasting and resource allocation.
Conduct month-end close processes and ensure accurate general ledger maintenance.
Prepare financial statements and facilitate audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
Reconcile accounts and review journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
Oversee bond financing and government bond activities to support district initiatives.
Ensure ethical and prudent management of the district's fiscal affairs.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounting management, preferably within a school district or government setting.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.
Familiarity with bond financing and government bond operations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to guide teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Ability to contribute to strategic planning and long-term financial goals.
