Job Title: A&P Mechanic

Job Description

Perform C checks and heavy maintenance on aircrafts for military and government customers.

Responsibilities

Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems.

Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.

Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation.

Read and interpret maintenance manuals and manufacturer publications and directives to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance.

Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.

Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.

Read and interpret pilots' descriptions of problems to diagnose causes.

Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand or power tools.

Inventory and ordering supplies, parts, materials, and equipment.

Check for corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail.

Essential Skills

A&P License

5 years of heavy maintenance or modification experience on aircraft

Experience in a military or similar environment

Must provide own tools

Eligibility for a Secret clearance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in heavy maintenance, modification, and MRO or Depot environment

Experience with C check, D check, installation, helicopter, and heavy checks

Work Environment

Work in a hangar environment within an MRO setting, handling heavy maintenance and modifications. Follow production schedules and complete work within designated time frames. The schedule is from Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. This is a Contract position based out of Bridgewater, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
