About the role
As a CBRE Events Summer Intern, you will be part of the team responsible for planning, coordination, and day-of execution of meetings, conferences, and events.
This job is part of the Events job function. They are responsible for the creation, management, and execution of events for internal and external clients.
This is a fully onsite opportunity in Indianapolis, IN from Monday-Friday.
What you'll do
Review staff workload and make judgments to meet business demands.
Assist team with event tasks. Coordinate set up, refresh, and reset of event space. Work with team to ensure smooth operations. Work with management to communicate department goals and direction with staff.
Confirm pre-event and post-event setup and reset is complete. Verify decor is aligned with the client's vision.
Follow up with clients pre- and post-event to confirm happiness. Review post-event reporting and reconciliation with management and recap results with the team.
Troubleshoot and resolve client inquiries.
Accountable for the execution of SLA's, Key Performance Indicators, benchmarks, and reoccurring reports.
Order event supplies as needed.
Gather and analyze data to identify and solve complex problems that arise with little or no precedent. May recommend new techniques.
Impact own team and other teams whose work activities are closely related.
Suggest improvements to existing processes and solutions to improve the efficiency of the team.
What you'll need
High School Diploma or equivalent experience or GED or equivalent experience with job-related experience.
Flexibility to work after hours or overtime if needed before or after shift.
Fulfill the physical requirements associated with this role. This includes stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Ability to walk 30K steps a day.
A comprehensive understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within own job function is required.
Ability to evaluate and communicate unusual and/or complex content in a concise and logical way.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, Prismm, Canva, etc.
Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mentality.

Core Technical Responsibilities
Troubleshootelectro mechanicalfailures across automated material handling, robotic, and packaging systems
Perform structured fault isolation using multimeters, clamp meters, and basic diagnostic tools
Trace control circuits using electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and point to point wiring prints
Diagnose device level faults on PLC controlled equipment including sensors, inputs, outputs, and actuators
Replace and recommission field devices including photo eyes, proximity sensors, encoders, solenoids, and limit switches
Inspect and repair mechanical power transmission components including chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys, couplings, and bearings
Service motors and drives including motor starters, contactors, overloads, and variable frequency drives
Validate safety circuits including e stops, light curtains, interlocks, and guard switches
Perform alignment, tensioning, and timing adjustments onhigh speedconveyor and sortation equipment
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks using task standards and tolerance ranges
Capture failure codes, device states, and repair actions in CMMS with clear technical notes
Systems and Technology Exposure
Technicians in this role regularly work with:
High speed conveyor and sortation systems includingmerges, diverts, transfers, and accumulation zones
Robotic handling and automated workstations such as pick modules, palletizing cells, or guided automation platforms
PLC based control systems at the field device level including input and output devices and control panels
Motor control systems including starters, contactors, overload protection, and variable speed drives
Electrical distribution panels and low voltage industrial control circuits
Pneumatic systems including valves, cylinders, regulators, and air preparation units
Hydraulic componentswhereinstalled, including actuators and control valves
Industrial safety systems including guarded zones, interlock circuits, and emergency stop networks
Smart sensors including photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, andbarcode baseddetection devices
Maintenance and asset tracking platforms such as CMMS for work orders and asset history
Required Background
High school diploma or GED
One or more years ofhands ontechnical maintenance experience in an industrial or automated setting
Demonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability
Experience working with industrial equipment, controls components, or automation devices
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Comfortableusing digital tools and maintenance tracking systems
Physically able tolift upto fifty pounds and work at elevation whenrequired
Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Background
Technical diploma or associate degree in mechatronics, robotics, electrical, or industrial maintenance
Two or more years supporting automated or robotics driven equipment
Experience working around PLC controlled systems and industrial controls panels
Experience troubleshooting sensors, drives, and motor control circuits
CMMS usage experience
Formal apprenticeship or trade program completion
Training in industrial electrical safety practices
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $28-$34 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
