Office of Workers' Compensation
The Louisiana Works is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join the Office of Workers' Compensation. The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force.
Under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant will provide journeyman-level clerical and administrative support to the Workers' Compensation Judge. The incumbent will exercise a high level of discretion and independent judgment in performing assigned duties. In addition, the position coordinates the activities of other clerical personnel when scheduling cases for hearings or trials on the court's docket.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Details:
Conduct telephone conferences with attorneys' offices to schedule and re-set hearings.
Provide assistance to the public and attorneys' offices with information regarding trials, hearings, and other matters.
Facilitate the flow of information and documents between attorneys, the judge and other staff.
Prepare Scheduling Orders and other Court Notices.
Maintain and update the Judge's Calendar and Court Docket.
