We're looking for anAdministrative Program Specialist A (Undergraduate Education Coordinator)to join the Department of Surgery. This position performs professional and administrative duties supporting the undergraduate academic programs and educational missions of the department.
The incumbent coordinates multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision and serves in a highly visible role requiring strong organization and the ability to collaborate effectively with departments across the institution and external healthcare facilities.
This position provides administrative support to the Director of Undergraduate Surgery Education and other clinical divisions as directed by the Business Manager. Responsibilities require strong written communication, technical computer skills, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to student and patient care activities.
The incumbent performs high-level administrative tasks based on the Director's guidance and verbal instructions. Routine supervision is received from the Business Manager of Surgery.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Coordinate the Surgery Clerkship and Fourth-Year Surgery Rotations, including scheduling, student orientation, testing, and evaluations for third- and fourth-year medical students.
Work closely with the Director of Undergraduate Surgery Education and faculty to plan, implement, and manage the department's undergraduate medical education program.
Maintain course materials, syllabi, lecture calendars, and clinical rotation schedules while coordinating educational activities and classroom logistics.
Administer student evaluations, grades, and course records using systems such as One45, Moodie, and myNBME, while monitoring student progress and completion of program requirements.
Serve as liaison between students, faculty, and institutional offices (e.g., Student Affairs and Academic Affairs) to support program operations and ensure fulfillment of learning objectives.
Provide administrative support to faculty and the department, including coordinating schedules, managing office operations, maintaining records, arranging travel, and assisting with other departmental needs as assigned.

Location: Shreveport, Louisiana - in-person position. Not remote eligible.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
