Come be a part of our Small Animal LVT team at Cornell University Hospital for Animals.What you will do: Specific duties and job responsibilities will depend on the area of service you join. Providing care to patients according to hospital protocols and clinician orders. Phlebotomy and intravenous and urinary catheter placement. Administer medication accurately at the correct dilution and rate and via the correct route. Monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia and following surgical or diagnostic procedures. Proper use of various monitoring equipment such as pulse oximetry, ECG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitors. Advising, guiding and supporting DVM students throughout your shift. Continue to develop basic and advanced clinical skills. We are excited to find people with some or all of these skills that are excited to learn and grow. Our LVTs provide exceptional patient experiences during: Daytime Evenings (includes shift differential pay) Nights (includes shift differential pay) Weekends Holidays (includes generous holiday pay)Current open technician schedules will include evening, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts. What are the qualifications? Associate degrees from an AVMA accredited institution, expected to obtain NYS licensure within 3 months; up to 1 year relevant experience or equivalent combination.
