Delta Solutions and Services Bowhead is seeking an Asset Management Technician to support our team at Vandenberg SFB.
The Asset Management Technician is responsible for managing all activities associated with IT asset lifecycle management, procurement, accountability, and inventory control across S4S. This position ensures all hardware, software, and associated materials are accurately tracked, documented, and maintained in compliance with DoD and organizational policies. The Asset Management Technician maintains comprehensive records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, contracts, and service agreements for all IT resources. The position minimizes organizational cost through product standardization, proactive tracking, and lifecycle forecasting while ensuring readiness and accountability for mission-critical systems. The Asset Management Technician provides day-to-day administrative and logistical support to Collateral, Administrative, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and auditable records and databases containing information regarding hardware, software, licenses, warranties, and service agreements to ensure full accountability of all assets.
Plan, monitor, and record software licenses and hardware inventory to ensure compliance with vendor and DoD contractual requirements.
Support organizational efforts to eliminate waste and increase efficiency by optimizing the use of existing IT resources and avoiding redundant asset purchases.
Provide accurate, real-time reporting of IT assets including ownership, utilization, lifecycle stage, feature usage, and renewal timelines.
Track and report software and hardware usage trends to assist in forecasting future acquisitions and refresh cycles based on mission demand.
Develop analytical tools, spreadsheets, and reporting mechanisms to organize, track, and account for systems, materials, and equipment supporting operational requirements.
Conduct physical and digital inventories to verify equipment locations, serial numbers, barcodes, and condition of assets.
Research and identify cost savings opportunities for license renewals, software subscriptions, and hardware maintenance services.
Track and process hardware and software maintenance renewals, ensuring continuous coverage for mission systems.
Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, receipt, storage, issuance, transfer, and disposition of hardware and software in accordance with DoD and Air Force supply chain regulations.
Coordinate with IT support, cybersecurity, and procurement teams to validate technical compatibility, compliance, and security considerations prior to acquisition or deployment.
Assist with developing procurement specifications, vendor evaluations, and product recommendations to ensure standardization across enterprise environments.
Monitor asset quality and condition throughout product lifecycles to maintain readiness and ensure compliance with sustainment standards.
Provide guidance on secure and compliant methods of shipping, receiving, and transporting unclassified and classified equipment or materials.
Ensure compliance with all applicable property management regulations, including DoDI 5000.64, DAFI 23-111, and AFMAN 17-1203, for accountability and recordkeeping.
Serve as a property custodian responsible for maintaining custody, documentation, and control of assigned equipment and systems.
Assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies, investigating lost or unaccounted-for property, and implementing corrective actions to restore accountability.
Support internal and external audits, inspections, and spot checks by maintaining readiness of all asset management documentation and records.
Coordinate with financial management personnel to align asset data with budget tracking, cost analysis, and resource forecasting.
Provide after-hours and contingency support as required to support operational missions, equipment delivery, or emergency response actions.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years of logistics or supply chain experience, preferably in a DoD environment.
At least two years of asset management experience and two years of IT financial planning, tracking, or reporting.
Demonstrated experience managing materials throughout procurement, transportation, receipt, storage, inventory, and warehouse operations. Experience with Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) management and secure supply chain practices preferred.
Proficiency with asset tracking or warehouse logistics systems and mobile inventory tools.
Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and at least four years of relevant experience.
Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II or Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I within six months of the date of hire.
Must be familiar with RMF tools and workflows such as eMASS, Xacta, and ACAS.
Must possess a strong understanding of COMPUSEC and TEMPEST policies, DoDI 8500.01, CNSSI 1253, and related DoD guidance.
Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure cyber readiness across Collateral, SCI, and SAP environments.
Ability to provide surge and after-hours support during inspections, exercises, or real-world cyber events.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
