Summary The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Management Analyst in the Income Verification Division of the HEC and is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to a unit consisting of Legal Administrative Specialists (Contact Representatives) and administrative support staff. Responsibilities The Supervisory Management Analyst plans and carries out projects to improve the efficiency and productivity of organizations and employees in administrative support activities by developing, monitoring and auditing programs and procedures for determining Veteran co-pay responsibility that impacts other agencies within the VA. Major duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Provides technical and administrative direction to unit employees resulting in the efficient accomplishment of work. Determines educational and training needs for the unit and is responsible for ensuring that the proper resources and training have been provided to unit employees in order to achieve established goals and objectives. Plans, schedules, and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates, realigning priorities as necessary to support internal and external business requirements and operation objectives. Develops statistical and narrative data to justify work unit adjustments or position restructuring and a more productive or efficient use of personnel resources. Verify income data with the Internal Revenue Service and the Social Security Administration for benefits eligibility determinations. Recommends approval, rejection or action on promotions, reassignments, selections, awards, and disciplinary issues. Evaluates staffing and equipment requirements, recommends appropriate procedures and quality standards to use in the Unit. Assesses work measurement methods and productivity reports of unit staff to ensure consistency with IVD processes and goals. Shares information with Division management and supervisors to promote consistency and involvement. Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 hour shift between 9:00am - 5:30pm. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/20/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
