Summary The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for an Accounting Technician. The Accounting Technician will function in Fiscal Service. The incumbent's primary responsibility is establishing and maintaining a complex integrated financial system and services which contributes to effectively manage and control facility operations. Responsibilities The Accounting Technician duties include, but are not limited to: Utilizes a range of software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) including but not limited to, spreadsheets, word processing, internet, and communications. Researches and resolves issues in a paperless system including, but not limited to vendor issues, missing payments and rejects. Consults with customers providing advice and guidance concerning policies, procedures and regulations. Knowledge of a variety of procedures and their relationship to other functions to research and investigate problems in order to advise a resolution. Meets the needs of customers while supporting all stakeholders by communicating in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Use of a wide variety of procedures or processes required to assemble, review and maintain complex accounting, budgeting or other fiscal transactions. Education: You must have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education in the major of accounting or Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). One year of graduation education is 18 semester hours or the number determined by the school attended to represent one year of full-time study. SAA is based on class standing (upper third), GPA (3.0 or above) or honor society membership. (Transcripts must be submitted). Combination of Experience and Education: You must have a combination of education and experience to qualify at the GS-7 level. This can be determined by adding total qualifying experience as a percentage of the required experience and education as a percentage of the total required.
