Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aSenior Process Automation and Facility Electrical Specialistat ourHayward, CA location!
This position would serve as the primary focal point for instrumentation and field automation reliability and improvement. In addition, this position would serve as the Hayward Site Electrical Representative, and help oversee the maintenance and reliability strategy of electrical systems in the Hayward plant.
Provides maintenance craft specific support to plants. Maintains and repairs all @types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. Participates on maintenance team which supports reliability improvement across all Operations facilities. Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Process Control & Automation Specialist
Performs calibration, tests, and repairs, as well as advanced troubleshooting on controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
Provides technical expertise on equipment failures. Evaluates whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
Ensures repair techniques, repair procedures, and electrical specific training are documented and filed with the plant and area maintenance group.
Contributes to Facility Equipment Reliability Strategies. Owns "Top-10 Priority List" for Electrical / Instrumentation
Reviews and adjusts preventative maintenance activities to assure reliability of equipment.
Identifies critical spare parts for electrical and instrumentation. Develops effective MRO strategy for these parts
Supports ongoing training of instrument and electrical skills for other mechanics and I&E technicians
Develops working knowledge of facility Process Control system. Interfaces with Process Automation engineers to bridge gap between field instrumentation and process control systems.
Executes small projects and supports ongoing continuous improvement efforts to upgrade and improve instrumentation and automation capabilities throughout the plant.
Responsibilities: Facility Electrical Representative (FER)
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for low and medium voltage electrical systems
Electrical Focal Point for plant outages.
Schedule services of outside Line Crew
Address electrical findings from Electrical Safety and Reliability Assessment. Facilitate Electrical Work Process Audits.
Dow Electrical Safe Work Practice focal point for site.
Train new employees on electrical safety and Dow Electrical Safe Work practices.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
California general electrical certification
5+ years' experience as an electrician, lineman, electrical technologist, electrical engineer, or other electrical related field.
Working knowledge of National Electric Code.
Must have experience with Transformers and Electrical Distribution.
Current, valid US driver's license
Ability to support the site during off-hours on occasion

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a relevant field
7+ years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in Plant Maintenance.
5+ years of medium voltage experience.
Experience with Delta-V and PLC process control systems, instrument systems along with related I/O systems.
Skills:
Instrumentation: Instrumentation is a collective term for measuring instruments that are used for indicating, measuring and recording physical quantities. The term has its origins in the art and science of scientific instrument-making.
Electrical Equipment: Electrical equipment includes any machine powered by electricity. It usually consists of an enclosure, a variety of electrical components, and often a power switch.
Engineering Drawings:An engineering drawing is a @type of technical drawing that is used to convey information about an object. A common use is to specify the geometry necessary for the construction of a component and is called a detail drawing. Usually, a number of drawings are necessary to completely specify even a simple component. The drawings are linked together by a master drawing or assembly drawing which gives the drawing numbers of the subsequent detailed components, quantities required, construction materials and possibly 3D images that can be used to locate individual items.
Detail- Oriented:Detail-Oriented is the ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, ensuring accuracy and completeness in one's work.
Troubleshooting:?Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving, often applied to repair failed products or processes on a machine or a system. It is a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem in order to solve it, and make the product or process operational again. Troubleshooting is needed to identify the symptoms. Determining the most likely cause is a process of eliminating potential causes of a problem. Finally, troubleshooting requires confirmation that the solution restores the product or process to its working state.

This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.? Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator use and specialized Electrical PPE (Example: Arc flash suit) and safety harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
Ability to safely work in a plant environment with continuous noise, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
Lift equipment or materials up to 55 lbs occasionally.

For positions based in California, Dow is required by law to include the pay scale that is reasonably expected to represent the pay range for the position. This pay range is specific to the State of California and accounts for both new and experienced employees with consideration to factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, and sustained job performance (or similar jobs).
This job is eligible for an additional 18% geographic differential associated with the California location and this position.
A reasonable pay range for this position is: $83,160-$147,960 (plus 18% pay added if hire in CA)
