The Position
As the Head of Sensors & Cartridges Sub-Network at Genmark, you will be responsible for ensuring the supply (OTIF), quality (compliance), and cost (SMC, operational efficiency) of the cartridges Molecular Lab portfolio.
In this role, you will oversee the performance and development of a high-profile Molecular Lab portfolio that contributes to global healthcare innovation. You will lead a high-performing team, driving operational efficiency, collaboration, and execution, while positioning the organization for future growth and readiness by spearheading innovation and efficiency improvements.
You will collaborate with internal GO functions (MSAT and Engineering), R&D, Quality & Regulatory (Q&R) teams, Site teams, and Life Cycle Teams to ensure new products are introduced to the market on time, and at the right cost to meet business case objectives. In partnership with peers across the Global Sensors & Cartridges Network and the broader GO network, you will work to streamline processes, leverage synergies, and improve efficiency to enhance operational output.
The Opportunity
Operational Accountability & Delivery (60%)
Ensure supply (OTIF), quality (compliance), and cost (SMC, operational efficiency) for over 20 products in the Molecular Lab portfolio.
Oversee the execution of key projects, including:
New product launches
Technology transfers
CAPEX investments
Product care/quality
Process improvements (~25M CHF total project budget).
Facilitate collaboration with Life Cycle Teams to achieve Operations deliverables, including facility and production investments, within deadlines and business case requirements.
Drive process improvements through digitalization, automation, yield optimization, and stabilization to prepare for future manufacturing investments.
Manage supplier relationships and procurement for key materials, ensuring readiness for product launches and production capacity expansion.
People Leadership & Development (40%)
Lead a multi-site team of ~600 employees, fostering collaboration, alignment with global initiatives (e.g., GOTogether), and organizational growth through Strategic Workforce Planning.
Guide and develop your team to achieve continuous improvement and meet strategic objectives.
Define strategic goals, performance targets, and development priorities for leadership and ensure effective execution.
Foster a high-performance culture where employees are empowered to innovate, grow, and deliver exceptional results.
Act as a mentor and coach, transforming challenges into opportunities and promoting accountability, open communication, and psychological safety.
Strategic & Tactical Decision-Making
Resolve complex, ambiguous challenges (e.g., unstructured issues in new product launches) by applying effective resource allocation and operational prioritization.
Collaborate with network leadership to ensure strategies and decisions drive operational and financial targets.
Stakeholder Management
Build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders (Life Cycle Leaders/Teams, Procurement, R&D, Q&R, Site teams) and external suppliers.
Maintain alignment by providing updates on cost, quality, delivery performance, and the progress of key initiatives/projects.
Resolve conflicts, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, and drive efficient solutions to achieve goals.
Financial Scope & Budget
Manage budgets, including period costs, cost centers, and SMC targets, ensuring financial efficiency across operations.
Prioritize resource allocation for new product development, maintenance, and high-impact projects, overseeing project delivery.

Who You Are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field; an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, Ph.D., MBA) is highly preferred.
You have 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, or technology management, preferably in regulated industries like diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.
You bring 8+ years of experience leading multi-site or global teams, with expertise in operational excellence and continuous improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
You have a deep understanding of supply chain management, production, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
You demonstrate proven financial management capabilities, including budgeting, cost optimization, and delivering results in complex global environments.
Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing skills for navigating cross-functional and multicultural teams.
Strong scientific knowledge in dry chemistry, biology, and/or materials science is an advantage.
You are fluent in English (written and spoken) and willing to travel globally as needed.

?The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Carlsbad, CA is 190,800.00 - 354,300.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
