Summary:

We are seeking a per diem Physical Therapist who is open to supporting both acute care and outpatient settings. Coverage may occasionally be needed during the week or on weekends and holidays when team members are out sick or scheduled off, and we can offer flexibility in return. In this role, the PT provides evidence-based evaluations, treatment interventions, and education for patients and caregivers across a variety of diagnoses affecting communication, swallowing, cognition, and related disorders. The clinician also participates in student shadowing, clinical instruction, and departmental or community education and outreach.

Our per diem roles offer a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work with a wide range of diagnoses, from post-surgical and chronic pain to neurological and vestibular conditions. We prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring a manageable caseload that allows you to focus on meaningful, patient-centered care. Opportunities are available in both our acute care setting and our outpatient clinic, which is uniquely located within a wellness center to support a seamless transition for patients graduating from therapy.

Responsibilities:

Completes physical therapy documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines. Manage daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines.

Administers tests and measures to assist in establishing a plan of care and interventions and manages resources to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.

Mentors assistive personnel and delegates responsibilities as per licensing board guidelines.

Provides clinical precepting and teaching for students and/or staff under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts. Provides regular feedback, coaching and mentoring. Evaluates the learner's performance.

Assists in the planning and coordinating of clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.

Education Requirements:

? Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

? Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.

? BLS within 3 months of hire date.

Professional Experience Requirements:

? No prior experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

? Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
