Description

The Career Counselor is responsible for providing personal and career counseling to enhance student employability and ensure continued enrollment in the Job Corps program. This role involves developing individualized career educational plans and addressing barriers to student success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide personal and career counseling for students to enhance employability

Develop individualized student career educational plans

Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data

Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress in academic and career technical areas

Coordinate services for students to ensure retention and success in the program

Mentor and establish supportive relationships with students throughout their enrollment

Document student performance using a case management system

Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines

Collaborate with staff from all departments to provide effective supervision and services

Maintain appropriate attendance and productivity standards

About Brunswick Job Corps Center

The Brunswick Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction) from an accredited school required. A minimum of one-year experience in counseling or related field. Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience. Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements.
