Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Burlington, Massachusetts. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a leading manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in fixed asset accounting and corporate tax, coupled with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

Manage fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of assets.

Prepare and post journal entries to maintain an up-to-date general ledger.

Handle corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Oversee sales tax reporting and filing processes.

Collaborate with the finance team to support day-to-day accounting operations.

Utilize Oracle systems to streamline accounting tasks and maintain financial records.

Conduct detailed reviews of financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

Assist with tax-related documentation and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Provide support for month-end and year-end close processes.

Requirements

Proven experience in fixed asset accounting within a corporate environment.

Strong understanding of corporate tax and sales tax regulations.

Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.

Demonstrated expertise in managing corporate tax returns.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Prior experience in manufacturing or a similar industry is preferred.
