A growing organization in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting functions and financial reporting activities. This position is well suited for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience managing reconciliations, supporting the close process, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role will work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient accounting operations and reliable financial data.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain daily accounting activities and financial records within the company's accounting system.

Participate in evaluating and improving accounting systems and financial processes as the organization evolves.

Reconcile daily revenue activity and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.

Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring transactions are recorded and processed appropriately.

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.

Assist with the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules for internal review.

Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items as needed.

Analyze financial information and generate reports to assist leadership in monitoring business performance.

Compile and maintain reporting data from internal systems to support operational and financial analysis.

Requirements

Proven expertise in month-end close processes and procedures.

Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and related tasks.

Proficiency in preparing and posting accurate journal entries.

Experience in account reconciliation and maintaining financial accuracy.

Familiarity with bank reconciliations and cash management.

Ability to work with accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong analytical abilities to review financial metrics and ratios.
