About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting the design, development, and production of tactical missile systems and associated equipment. In this role, you will lead mechanical design activities, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and support both factory operations and suppliers domestically and internationally. This position requires strong technical acumen, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to delivering high-quality mechanical solutions in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and sub-assemblies for tactical missile systems in accordance with system requirements.

Collaborate across engineering disciplines including Structural and Thermal Analysis, Materials Engineering, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, Operations, and Program Leadership.

Support factory operations and suppliers with product development, obsolescence management, and troubleshooting.

Interface with internal engineering teams, non-technical stakeholders, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.

Work independently with limited supervision; meet schedule, financial, and technical performance goals.

Participate in and support design peer reviews, address action items, and conduct trade studies to drive sound technical decision-making.

Apply working knowledge of the First Article Inspection (FAI) process and support RTX Source Inspection (RSI) activities alongside Quality Engineering.

Utilize strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic, team-oriented hardware development environment.

Mentor and guide a small team of engineers, fostering collaboration and technical growth.

Utilize hardware tools and adhere to established processes and standards.

Required Qualifications

Must be US Citizen to be considered

5+ years of experience in each of the following:

Mechanical design, development, and production of mechanical equipment and/or hardware-preferably in military or ruggedized environments.

Development, creation, release, and revision of mechanical technical data packages (TDPs).

Reviewing and interpreting technical documentation in a production setting.

Proficiency in ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles.

Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in production environments supporting military hardware.

Hands-on support of full-rate factory production for missile components or assemblies.

Working knowledge of military and commercial specifications.

Demonstrated team player with strong collaboration skills and self-driven leadership.

Proficiency with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D modeling tools.

Experience with PTC Windchill or equivalent product data/configuration management systems.

Education

Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent relevant experience.
