Job Title: Environmental Services Technician - 2nd and 3rd shift

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to join our team in maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment. This role is crucial in ensuring hospital rooms are thoroughly sanitized, especially during patient discharges. The position involves significant walking, so candidates must be comfortable being on their feet for extended periods. Successful candidates will perform various cleaning tasks, including wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, mopping, and cleaning spills across multiple floors.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize hospital rooms, particularly after patient discharges.

Wipe down equipment and swipe surfaces as needed.

Empty trash bins and perform sweeping and dusting duties.

Mop floors and clean up spills promptly.

Utilize iPhones for daily assignments and access cleaning tutorials if necessary.

Familiarize with the hospital floor plan efficiently.

Essential Skills

Experience with smart phone technology for accessing work orders and tutorials.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Comfortable with extensive walking and standing throughout the day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous janitorial experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience in janitorial work or manufacturing/distribution with a willingness to transition to healthcare is considered.

Work Environment

This position operates in a very fast-paced hospital environment, which is a #1 trauma center, meaning employees may encounter challenging situations. The schedule includes a rotating shift pattern with every other weekend and major holidays required. Initially, new hires may experience a delay in receiving their badge, requiring patience. The work environment demands resilience and the ability to function in high-pressure situations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Danville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
