CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician II.

Job Title: Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician II

Location: Concord, NC (Hybrid work schedule available, work from home 3-4 days per week)

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Description:

As a member of a global drafting department, you will assist in the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD) for custom-designed process equipment. You will support the area drafting lead by completing required work for engineering/development drawing sets prior to release into Autodesk Vault. Tasks include creating 3D models, editing drawings, and ensuring compliance with company drafting standards. No new design activity is within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

Correct redlined models/drawings issued by drafting lead or engineering/development teams

Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associative drawings

Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models from other users

Collect data from engineering teams and incorporate information into appropriate drawings

Collect measurements/information from production floor to incorporate into drawings

Work Environment:

Employment through a third party on a contract basis, typically 1 year in length with potential extensions

Hybrid work schedule available (3-4 days work from home)

M-F, 8am-5pm base schedule; OT often required, 45 hours/week target

Required Education:

A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree

A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree

Drafting Certificate/Certification

Candidates without degrees must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting

Required Experience and Skills:

Minimum of 2 years professional experience in mechanical drafting

Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards

General Windows-based computer skills

Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault

Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Ability to adapt to company standards and guidelines

Additional Information:
