This position is eligible for a hybrid workplace which is partly remote (work from home or travel to other facilities) and partly in office at the DENVER COMPLEX in Denver, Colorado.
Description of Job
This position will provide operational and supervisory oversight for multiple facilities to include Denver Women's Correctional Facility, Denver Reception & Diagnostic Center, Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility, and multiple mental health programs, to include but not limited to general mental health, Residential Treatment Program, Positive Development Program, intake, and mental health services provided to infirmaries. This position w ill work jointly with facility Wardens, facility Health Services Administrators (HSA), and Clinical Services Headquarters staff to ensure operational and administrative compliance with DOC Administrative Regulations, Clinical Standards and Procedures, accreditation standards, State/Federal Statutes, State Licensing/Credentialing and Regulatory Board standards affecting the provision of mental health services to offenders.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide mental and behavioral health supervision and direction consistent with the BHA Standards and Guidelines.
Is accountable for planning, directing, and maintaining delivery of mental health services, assuring compliance with mental health, and managing appropriate use of resources.
Providing consultation in professional psychological assessment, as well as clinical interviews, and diagnosis;
Establishes treatment plans for treatment and management of inmates with mental illness or other special need populations identified as needed or in the absence of a supervisor;
Direct the management of psychiatric crises and or emergencies.
Evaluates professional performance and participates in personnel actions related to professional practice.
Will conduct regular audits of mental / behavioral health documentation with guidance from the Mental Health Program Administrator.
Will collaborate with the regional trainers regarding the identification of staff training needs.
Will work collaboratively with the Mental Health Program Administrator to ensure comprehensive mental health program development and delivery in CDOC facilities.
Collaborate with Parole Mental Health to provide consultation and service coordination for CDOC mental health staff and case managers in the development and implementation of community transition plans.
Participate as part of the mental health management team to resolve issues and further develop policy, clinical standards, and procedures.
Recommends hiring and corrective action of assigned staff with accompanying accurate, timely, and appropriate documentation;
Responsible for payroll entry; and solves problems for day-to-day mental health operations of assigned facility(s).
Facilitates communication within the facility to assure staff receive clear accurate and congruent information on a consistent basis;
Facilitates team building within the facility and between the behavioral health programs or and other CDOC departments;
Provide regular training to mental health program supervisors and mental health staff Analyzes system gaps and presents recommendations to improve systems and procedures to optimize accessibility of treatment for offenders.
Provides case planning and consultation to CDOC mental health clinicians.
Provides the full range of program-specific, professional psychological services to the inmate population, including formal and informal mental health evaluations, diagnostic assessments, risk assessments, and interviewing.
Participation in 24 hour Mental Health On-Call Consultation rotation.
Assures both emergency and non-emergency transfer for inmates experiencing acute mental health
Will be required to travel other facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Successfully pass all modules of the 6 week Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training, to include English reading comprehension, relevant competency assessments and written/practical exams in Defensive Tactics;

Willing and able to work various shifts, days, afternoons, graveyards (nights) which includes a rotating shift schedule;
TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire.
