About this Job
This position serves as an Accountant 1-3 in the Traditional Accounting section of the Executive Division of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA). The incumbent performs a variety of professional accounting duties, including financial analysis, reconciliations, and supports overall fiscal operations, as well as monitors and reconciles the travel budget.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Monitor and reconcile multi-source funded project expenditures, ensure regulatory compliance, oversee billing and revenue reporting, collaborate with project managers on budgets, and prepare financial reports using LaGov and Excel
Audit and reconcile invoices to purchase orders, process and document payments in LaGov and RIMS, generate status reports for leadership, resolve vendor payment issues, and enhance accounting procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with GAAP and state/federal regulations
Oversee and forecast agency-wide travel budget, serve as primary contact for PPM49 and State Travel policy compliance, audit and reconcile employee travel reimbursements, and develop guidance materials to ensure adherence to statewide and agency travel procedures
Participate in meetings, conferences, and professional development trainings to maintain current knowledge of federal guidelines, state regulations, and industry best practices

Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Accountant 1, Accountant 2, or Accountant 3, depending on level of experience.

Compensation: The maximum salary for the Accountant 3 is $96,533 annually.
There are special bi-weekly entrance rates established for this position:
Accountant 1 $1,730.40
Accountant 2 $1,851.20
Accountant 3 $2,120.00
