The AI Center of Excellence Innovation team is seeking a Software Engineering Advisor to design, build, and scale reusable AI-enabled software solutions across Evernorth and the enterprise.
This role is suited for an early to mid-career engineer with strong full stack fundamentals and hands-on experience with modern AI technologies, including generative AI and knowledge graph-based systems. The Software Engineering Advisor will partner with senior engineers, architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions while continuing to build technical and architectural depth.
Role Objective
Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, reusable AI-first software that supports strategic initiatives across U.S. and global teams. This role focuses on application and service development-not traditional data engineering or reporting.

Required Qualifications
Early to mid-career software engineering experience
Strong Python and API development skills
Hands-on experience with generative AI or AI-enabled systems
Familiarity with knowledge graphs or graph modeling
Cloud-native development experience (AWS preferred)
Experience with containers (Docker or Podman)
Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals
Git and agile development experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in AI, innovation, or platform teams
Exposure to multiple LLM providers or evaluation frameworks
Observability and monitoring experience
Contributions to shared libraries or accelerators
Open-source interest or contributions

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 111,700 - 186,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
