Seeking a 1st Shift Dispatch Clerk to join Transportation team. This role supports fleet operations by dispatching drivers, coordinating equipment, updating transportation systems, and ensuring accurate shipment documentation. The Dispatch Clerk serves as the primary communication hub during shift hours to maintain efficient, safe, and on-time deliveries within a fast-paced, 24-hour, six-day operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Coordinate, prepare, and print all driver trip documentation.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the Transportation Department during shift hours. Answer and manage incoming dispatch calls in a timely and professional manner. Dispatch drivers and monitor delivery instructions to ensure accuracy and on-time performance. Dispatch and apply seals for outside carriers in accordance with company procedures. Assign trucks, transfers, and rollers based on operational needs. Print and distribute delivery receipts and backhaul documentation. Update trip information in transportation management systems (TMS). Document all shift activity and operational updates in SharePoint for communication and continuity between shifts. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Effective analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and suppliers Strong decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations Professional telephone communication skills Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills Proficiency with computer systems and data entry Flexibility to work float shifts as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
