Description We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Macon, Georgia. This role involves managing key financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

Responsibilities:

Process and monitor accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and payment collection.

Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure financial data integrity.

Assist in preparing financial statements and reports in accordance with company guidelines.

Analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision-making processes.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices.

Address and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner.

Support audits by providing necessary documentation and financial information. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.

Familiarity with accounting principles and industry standards.

Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Experience with accounting software and tools is preferred.
