ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Meal Preparation: You will follow recipes to prepare hot and cold meals for large groups.
Specialized Cooking: You will help prepare special meals for residents who have specific health needs or diet orders.
Campus Delivery: You will drive a food delivery truck to bring fresh meals to different buildings across our campus.
Food Safety: You will make sure all food is stored and served safely, keeping an eye on expiration dates.
Kitchen Care: You will help keep the kitchen sparkling clean, including washing pots, pans, and large equipment.
Team Communication: You will answer phones and talk with your team to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of how to cook large amounts of food using recipes and safety rules.
Ability to work in all parts of a large kitchen, from the bakery to the hot food line.
Knowledge of how to stock supplies and check dates carefully so nothing goes to waste.
Skills in talking with supervisors and coworkers to solve problems and work well as a team.
Ability to work kindly around residents and staff, including in high-energy situations.
Ability to stay organized while multitasking in a busy kitchen environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Assistant
OR
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Culinary Arts)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Food Services Assistant
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to lift heavy items, and carry heavy items up and down ladders/stairs.
Tolerate cold temperatures in walk-in freezers.
Stand for a full shift.
Physically utilize industrial-size kitchen equipment.
This position requires a valid driver's license to drive a food delivery truck.
In a large food service kitchen, general walking, twisting, bending, kneeling, and lifting would be expected.

A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
