Mechanical Service Technician -- DMAX, Moraine, OH

Purpose of Position: Provide mechanical support for plant manufacturing operations by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to maintain operational quality and uptime. Work is performed under the guidance of a Skilled Trades Team Leader, with higher-level supervision from the Skilled Trades Group Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines to ensure proper operation.

Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions using diagrams, sketches, manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.

Identify issues by observing devices in operation, listening for irregularities, and using precision measuring instruments.

Dismantle and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools; examine parts for wear or damage.

Measure and inspect parts for dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other tools.

Adjust functional parts and control instruments with hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Minimize downtime by educating production staff on routine preventive maintenance and monitoring adherence.

Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.

Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories; anticipate needs, place orders, and verify deliveries.

Use equipment and supplies efficiently to conserve maintenance resources.

Provide guidance on mechanical maintenance and answer related inquiries.

Stay updated on technical knowledge via workshops, publications, and professional networks.

Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure team continuity.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.

Contribute to team success by assisting with additional related tasks as needed.

Employee Qualifications:

Journeyperson status or equivalent experience (minimum 6 years), or basic mechanical knowledge with willingness to train in industrial mechanical topics.

Basic understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Willingness to work any shift assignment, including weekends and overtime.

Ability to work in an industrial environment, stand on concrete floors, and use standard mechanical tools.
