Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the largest multispecialty group in the region is looking for a per-diem Medical Assistant to join our experienced Breast Clinic team in Spring field , MA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Baystate Health, Medical Assistants perform an important role providing care to our patients. They take vital signs, perform patient intake and history, clinical orders, procedures, documentation and patient discharge. Our supportive work environment allows you to provide optimal patient care.

SCHEDULE:

Per-diem

Clinic hours are : Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

NO weekends, NO holidays

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED

CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association

LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

MAI & MAII- requires graduate of accredited MA program Or minimum of 3 years current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting. (evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring for)

MAIII - requires graduate of accredited MA program with minimum of 3 years' current medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 5 years' current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting

MAIV - Only through promotional career ladder internally. Minimum of two years as an MAIII at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV. Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body.

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

Practice Specific : In some specific service lines, the incumbent may have to:

Assist in visits and procedures for patients seeking abortion services or services for pregnancy loss, such as collecting supplies, printing consents, organizing instruments and medications, and/or assisting during the insertion of cervical dilators for surgical abortion procedures. Assist the provider with pelvic and breast exams for all patients. Assist with cervical cytology screening and filling out appropriate forms. Assist with in-office surgical procedures such as miscarriage management, biopsies, colposcopy, and LEEP procedures of the cervix.
