Job Description:
The SCO PeriOp Senior Manager oversees all day-to-day responsibilities for their assigned clinical program or assigned facilities. This position manages and directs supply chain services for all assigned facilities to include replenishment, put-away, receiving, distribution, and special orders. This position is responsible for the successful implementation of system initiatives and continuous improvement programs throughout their assigned facilities or clinical program including the monitoring and utilization of key performance indicators associated with projects. This position plans, organizes, directs, and staffs to maintain and improve functions. The incumbent ensures optimal utilization of PeriOp programs and SCO policies and procedures to reduce costs to facilities and patients.

Essentials:
Manages the daily operations of PeriOp and in many cases independently for designated departments, clinical programs, and facilities. Proactively interacts with physicians, managers, suppliers, clinical program leadership, and SCO personnel. Is accountable for the timely and efficient management of all supplies and services in all assigned teams and departments.
Gives oversight to all assigned facilities ensuring tactical alignment to our shared strategic goals and outcomes. Is responsible for development and accountability to the processes supporting optimal supply strategies, process outcomes, and cross functional team development to ensure optimum operational outcomes.
Works to support multi-site, varying level of complexity, or specialty designation facilities to provide PeriOp Supply Chain Support Services. The scope of care sites may include Trauma level 1 facilities and/or Children's specialty facilities, or complex centers of excellence i.e. Stroke Center.
Monitors and supports assigned facilities product needs in conjunction with clinicians and site leadership teams. Supports changes in the PeriOp service lines through VAT leadership, care site leadership, and changes in care site needs based upon service location needs.
Directs and leads staff to ensure the team is meeting department goals. Responsible for staffing performance management. Provides oversight for multiple care sites with managers reporting to this position.
Works to identify opportunities to improve efficiency in logistics activities for inventory stakeholders. Supports operational cost containment by participating in or leading workgroups or teams. Understands how to measure and improve efficiency and effectiveness of the SCO workflow and processes by engaging in the Continuous Improvement Program.
Ensures that systems, tools, and processes are organized and implemented safely and effectively. Supports system Safety Programs and works to ensure zero harm initiatives are used to reduce or eliminate caregiver injuries.
Is responsible for the department budget to ensure financial viability. Coordinates with clinical program regarding inventory metrics and spend. Provide feedback to the care site leadership team regarding spend patterns, savings opportunities, contract alignment, physician requests, and CI opportunities that align with system strategic initiatives.
Effectively participates in and leads Error-Prevention Techniques for the department to ensure that services provided are safe and effective in meeting caregiver needs. Understands and reviews SOP's, policies and procedures, and guidelines annually to ensure understanding, correctness, and appropriateness.
Represents the SCO to the assigned facilities or clinical program in collaborating with facility and system managers and leadership. Participates in and supports facility meetings, huddles, committees, or other initiatives that benefit from SCO presence or services. Accountable for the overall SCO or PeriOp Management compliance with Safety, Legal, TJC, Facility or SCO regulations, laws, or other requirements.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience working with PeriOp/Inventory.
Experience with prioritizing multiple tasks, organizing large teams with multiple levels of leaders, and meeting deadlines.
Stong demonstrated history of inventory control and working in conjunction with auditors and/or finance.
Proven history of improving associate engagement.
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, etc. and to identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing, operating telephones, and other office equipment.
Expected to bend, lift, and carry patient files, documents, equipment, and supplies.
Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time while interacting with others or to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
