Overview

Design, engineer and optimize robust data pipelines and cloud data platforms to support advanced analytics and AI workload at Paychex.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with architects, solution leads, data owners, data scientists and key stakeholders to facilitate and coordinate the data platform backlog grooming process, triaging new feature requests in preparation for future project activities.

Design and build scalable data pipelines to ingest data from APIs, databases, files and streaming sources.

Build solutions to support complex data transformation, curation and enrichment using various data tools and technologies.

Implement data quality checks and monitoring solutions for data freshness and accuracy.

Deliver automation and efficient processes to optimize performance and cost across cloud data infrastructure.

Ensure data extraction, transformation and loading data meet data security & compliance requirements.

Establish best practices for CI/CD, testing and deployment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering or equivalent software/services experience - Required

4 years of experience in working with SQL, Snowflake- Required

4 years of experience in Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement -Required

2 years of experience in Experience delivering data solutions via Agile Methodologies-Required

2 years of experience in Experience working with large-scale data processing and storage using Azure Data Factory, Integration Runtime, Data Lake, Informatica Integration Service, Data Build Tool(DBT),Databricks- Preferred

4 years of experience in Proficiency with languages such as Python, SQL, PySpark, R- Preferred

2 years of experience in Understanding of Privacy, Compliance and security aspects of data storage & processing -Preferred

4 years of experience in a successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets -Required

2 years of experience in Proficiency for Software Development & CI/CD methodologies- Preferred

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $99,600 - $136,500 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
