Job Description
This is a contracted appointment that may last up to two years in duration. Paid internships occur throughout the State of Michigan.

Our team is seeking a Veteran Intern, Trades Helper for our Bureau of Field Services Team. We are looking for someone who can embrace the challenges of meeting our goals and exceeding the standards!
This position manages inventory of parts and equipment located in the Signal Shop. Fills out forms related to the work such as supply requisitions, and assists in maintaining records regarding material, equipment, and supplies for the maintenance trades. Receives large shipments of equipment and documents parts organized by project. Assists with setting up traffic signal cabinets on the bench for testing. Assists statewide signal electrician inspectors as assigned to include setting up necessary traffic control for motorist safety and proper maintenance procedures. On the job training to be able to assist overall maintenance for traffic signal controllers and detection to support the units over all operations. Complexity of work will increase over the tenure of the internship. Other duties that are delegated by leadership as assigned. Position will require travel to statewide locations.

One year of experience as a laborer assisting in the construction, electrical, or mechanical trades.

To be considered for this position you must:
Possession of a valid driver's license is preferred.
Be an honorably discharged veteran.
Attach a copy of your DD-214 to your application. This document is required in order to serve in the internship program.
