Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will work in either the shipping or receiving area, handling the packaging and shipping of electrical supplies. Duties include labeling small boxes or large electrical spools with wiring, processing inventory, and coordinating shipments. The role requires basic scanner and computer skills to manage inventory and track shipments.

Responsibilities

Package and ship electrical supplies, ranging from small boxes to large electrical spools.

Label and process items for inventory or shipment.

Unload trucks and input products into the computer system.

Use computer systems to set up shipments and coordinate with vendors.

Track inventory and ensure all items are correct.

Unpack and pack orders accurately.

Essential Skills

Basic scanner and computer skills.

At least 3 years of experience in shipping/receiving.

Ability to use computer systems effectively.

Experience with inventory control and data entry.

Capability to perform heavy lifting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Valid driver's license.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Proficiency in simple math.

Attention to detail.

Ability to articulate well.

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a dry warehouse with fans, providing a comfortable environment without air conditioning. Employees are required to wear work pants, steel-toed shoes, and basic shirts. The facility is insulated to prevent excessive heat, ensuring a manageable temperature throughout the day. Shifts may vary with standard hours from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and occasional Saturday shifts from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Workers must be flexible to work weekends and extended hours as needed to complete tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rayville, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
