Job Description

A client headquartered in Cincinnati is looking for a Jr Accountant to join their team for a direct hire opportunity. The Entry Level Accountant supports the Finance & Accounting team by assisting with general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and monthly close processes. This role is ideal for a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting within a large, operationally complex organization.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals

Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate variances

Support the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation

Assist in maintaining accurate records related to profit and loss, assets, liabilities, and expenses

Help prepare internal financial reports and analysis for management review

Collaborate with regional finance teams and other departments to ensure accurate financial data across multiple locations

Support audit requests by preparing documentation and schedules

Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency within accounting operations

Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

0-2 years of accounting experience (internship, co-op, or entry-level role)

Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, lookups, pivot tables)

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Transportation or waste management industry experience
