Overview
About this Position:
We are looking for a Finance Director that is a strong financial leader with experience working in a fast-paced environment. The primary focus of this position is to provide financial and operational support to the CEO, CFO and Business Leads, while maintaining a strong internal control environment, overseeing the general accounting function and operations, and building and maintaining financial forecasting models.
The candidate should have advertising industry experience including extensive knowledge of client operations and compensation models, especially project based, retainer, and time and material fee engagements. Additionally, the candidate must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills as they will frequently interface with Agency Leadership and Client contacts at senior levels.?
What You'll Do:
Financial and operational partner for the CEO, CFO and Business Leads.
Oversee month end closing, forecasts and annual budget process.
Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and analysis
Perform new client and vendor contract review
Closely monitor compliance with client contracts, while driving profitability
Prepare pro-forma P&Ls for client profitability review by the management team
Prepares ad-hoc financial analysis for the CFO; improves reporting and forecasting visibility by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management
Develops financial models, conducts benchmarking and processes analysis
Manage external, internal and client audits
P&L analysis, risk identification and proactive solutions for achieving agency financial goals.
Lead Team in accurate revenue forecasting, phasing, risk identification and variance analyses
Ensure accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation for revenue recognition
Ensure compliance with financial policies and disseminate policy information to the agency
What You'll Bring:
7-10 years experience in the field of financial and accounting management
Prior experience with a creative or media agency is required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Thorough understanding and in-depth knowledge of the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Experience with financial analysis and financial modeling
Strong analytical skills to create and innovate analysis model and forecasting model
Experience with Hyperion and SAP is preferred
Highly proficient in Excel spreadsheets
Proven leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.
Communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Experience interacting regularly with executives and senior managers involving complex situations, difficult decisions, or influencing and persuading other managers and peers
Strong financial systems and process skills
Able to create useful analysis from scratch
Ability to work well under pressure and in an environment of change
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Employee must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. We do a high volume of work, often on tight timelines and our dedication to client satisfaction is uncompromising. Some travel should be expected.
