Positions in bridge maintenance will assist with performing daily routine work assignments following established procedures for bridge maintenance and other related structures. Work is sometimes completed in high traffic areas. Duties include but are not limited to:
Performing bridge maintenance tasks, such as bridge flushing, concrete repair, deck crack sealing, pouring joint replacement/repair, and spot painting
Traffic control, flagging & standing for extended periods
Transport equipment or materials to and from project sites in a safe manner.
Positions in contract administration will assist our road construction inspectors with daily routine work assignments. Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist inspectors with materials testing
Assist inspectors with completion of required documentation
Perform basic tasks to assist inspectors on road or bridge construction projects to verify that inspected work is accomplished in accordance with requirements.
Provide assistance to the construction survey crew as needed.
(1) Bridge position is anticipated to run from approximately April 22, 2026 - October 20, 2026. (Candidates with less availability will be considered.) Regular summer hours are 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
(1) Construction position is anticipated to run from approximately June 3, 2026 - September 4, 2026. (Candidates with less availability will be considered.) Regular summer hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Overtime for this position is expected.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have written and oral communication skills sufficient to keep records and read and interpret directions.
Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information; communicate with employees and the general public in-person or via two-way radio and other electronic devices; and to maintain routine written logs and simple records.
The position requires a valid Class D Driver's License at the time of application. Please include this information in your application or resume when applying.
Ability to perform manual labor work sufficient to complete assignments, including bending, lifting, digging, reaching and loading heavy materials.
Ability to perform indoor and outdoor tasks in heat, cold, rain and wind.
Class D driver's license.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this job will vary but typically requires the ability to lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent moving and/or lifting or otherwise transfer of objects such as 50-pound bags. This job also may require walking or moving or standing or sitting to a significant degree on rough terrain. This job will require strenuous physical labor including but not limited to digging, shoveling, hauling, crawling, bending, pushing, pulling and climbing. (Bridge - The employee will climb slopes and may utilize ladders and scaffolds at considerable heights.) May require frequent exposure to weather elements year-round (cold and hot) on a daily basis as well as working near traffic and heavy construction/bridge maintenance equipment. The employee must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment to protect the head, eyes, hearing, respiration, visibility and feet from injury.
