Job Summary
The Supply Chain Category Manager, Major Equipment owns sourcing strategy, contract execution, and lifecycle commercial management for major nuclear equipment across three nuclear uprate sites. This role serves as the owner's primary commercial interface with high-visibility, single-source nuclear suppliers, ensuring that contracts are negotiated with appropriate risk allocation, executed with discipline, and managed through delivery.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Relationships
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for major nuclear equipment categories (NSSS components, turbine-generator, I&C, emergency systems, specialty valves and pumps)
Lead supplier pre-qualification, competitive evaluation, and selection
Negotiate complex, high-value contracts with single-source and sole-source nuclear OEMs
Establish and maintain long-term supplier relationships built on transparency, accountability, and mutual performance expectations
Monitor supplier financial health, capacity utilization, and manufacturing capability
Develop contingency and risk mitigation plans for critical supply chains
Post-Award Contract Administration
Own commercial management of major equipment contracts from award through delivery and warranty
Manage contract changes, amendments, and commercial disputes
Track supplier deliverables against contractual milestones and payment schedules
Coordinate with Procurement Engineering on technical issues with commercial implications
Ensure contract documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
EPC Commercial Interface
Align Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) delivery schedules with EPC installation plans
Identify and resolve commercial interface issues between OFE suppliers and EPC
Support the commercial governance manager on EPC-related scope boundary questions
Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with Procurement Engineering on specification review and supplier technical evaluation
Interface with Quality Assurance on supplier audits, hold points, and corrective actions
Coordinate with Project Controls on cost tracking, forecasting, and earned value
Provide supplier risk and performance updates to the Director and project leadership
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree; Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration or equivalent
Experience
10-15 yearsof progressive sourcing, contracting, or commercial management experience
Prior nuclear procurement or OEM experience strongly preferred; power generation or heavy industrial capital project experience preferred
Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts high dollar value contracts
Proven track record managingsole-source and single-source supplier relationships
Experience with nuclear quality programs (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME) preferred
Multi-site or multi-project commercial management experience preferred
Skills & Behavioral Competencies
Deep understanding of nuclear equipment supply markets and supplier dynamics
Strong contract negotiation, drafting, and interpretation skills
Familiarity with nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Proficiency in ERP/procurement and CLM systems (Maximo, Conga a plus)
Ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments
Credibility with supplier leadership and nuclear OEMs
Judgment to balance commercial optimization with regulatory and schedule requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
