The Opportunity:

The general mechanic is responsible for supporting the paper mill\u2019s production operations by performing a variety of manual maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment cleanliness, assisting machine operators, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Assist in the overall maintenance of mill machinery and equipment under supervision.

Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including sweeping, shoveling, and waste removal.

Monitor maintenance processes and report any irregularities or equipment malfunctions.

Perform routine checks and mechanical maintenance tasks as directed.

Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Support other team members and departments as needed to meet production goals. initiatives.

What you need to succeed:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge of papermaking and the papermaking process

Trouble shooting/failure analysis

Organizational skills

Effective listener and communicator

Start to finish task management

2 years of mechanical maintenance experience

Completed Technical College degree in field/associate degree.
