Summary:
Under general supervision of the Assigned Management, this position is responsible and accountable for the management of pharmacy finance analytics, reporting, and pricing strategy to support the attainment of corporate growth and margin targets for the Pharmacy Line of Business. This position oversees a team which partners with Sales, Underwriting, Actuarial, and PHE to provide analytical guidance, financial oversight, and a comprehensive strategy to support the financial performance of the pharmacy P&L. This individual may assume key project roles and/or manage tasks as required or assigned by senior management.
Essential Accountabilities:
Oversees the supervision of assigned personnel, which includes but not limited to recommendations for hiring, release, and promotions, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Oversees the creation of complex analytical models to evaluate pharmacy pricing strategies and resulting book of business margin forecasts. Leverages these models to lead the development of the overall pharmacy pricing strategy, structure, and governance.
Manages the development of client level pricing and profitability analysis that supports the understanding of group specific impacts on the book of business performance in aggregate.
Monitors group level performance to identify risks and opportunities for corrective action to meet established targets when needed.
Provides consultative support on CBB pharmacy underwriting and negotiations, including complex custom pricing arrangements, formularies, and clinical programs.
Acts as a member of the Line of Business (LOB) leadership team charged with determining strategic direction and ensuring the long-term success of pharmacy programs.
Analyzes and understands competitive pricing practices and incorporates this information into recommendations for pricing strategy adjustments.
Supports the forecast and budget process by ensuring client-level proposals and performance are reflected in aggregate projections.
Supports the development of innovative pharmacy programs and initiatives as a key member of cross-departmental project teams.
Provides leadership in the improvement of pharmacy financial processes and systems.
Partners with Legal, PHE, and Underwriting to ensure contractual terms, caveats, and exclusions in RFPs and group contracts are complete and accurate.
Analyzes financial results, ensuring that senior management questions/inquiries are addressed in a timely manner while continually developing the analytical abilities of the function.
Develops relationships with managers, directors, VPs of other operating teams and acts as liaison to other operating teams.
Carries out special projects and studies as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy Finance and Senior Vice President of Finance.
Presents summary information to internal and external senior management.
Oversees work of assigned intern and/or temporary contract workers.
Supports Director of Pharmacy Finance in understanding financial impact of existing and proposed pricing and product offerings.
Prepares and maintains all documentation related to standard operating procedures as well as routine and special projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Finance/Actuarial Science or related field with minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience required. MBA/CPA/ASA preferred.
Requires knowledge of pharmacy pricing strategies and key performance metrics.
Strong persuasive and effective communication, people and management skills (e.g., oral and written communication including reports and other formal channels; group facilitation skills; ability to develop sound working relationships and network; ability to manage personnel and projects effectively to balance quality, cost and time, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; flexibility to work effectively in a demanding environment.
Healthcare Insurance or related industry background/experience required.
Expert knowledge of financial and risk arrangements.
Strong PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAS, SQL, Word, PowerPoint. Familiarity with Power BI a plus.
High sense of urgency and accountability.
Ability to make critical decisions that impact the department and the Company's finances.
Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
Ability to provide proactive and creative solutions to business problems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel across regions is required.

Compensation Range(s):
Grade E8: Minimum $98,297 - Maximum $176,935
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
