Role Summary/Purpose:
As Assistant Vice President, Legal - Marketing, you'll be responsible for providing legal oversight and support to Marketing teams in the development of marketing campaigns and processes. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing Counsel, you will be part of a diverse, inclusive, supportive, and tight knit team.

Essential Responsibilities:
Marketing Reviews
Review marketing collateral for all products and platforms (with an emphasis on Health & Wellness) across allchannels of communications and assess relevant processes for compliance with law/internal policies providingcomprehensive feedback.
Partner with client marketing teams to ensure the applicable audience, communication channel, client objectivesand legal requirements of a marketing campaign are considered and reflected in the associated collateral andprocesses.
Engage and collaborate with respective client attorney, all functions and subject matter experts, includingCompliance and Risk as required to ensure potential Fair Lending, Program Agreement, Associate Training orother aspects of a client's marketing campaign and Synchrony business considerations are appropriatelyaddressed.
Collaborate with Commercial Counsel on loyalty program changes, with Vice President, Account Acquisition,Digital and Marketing Counsel on upgrades, prescreens, cardholder agreement updates and revisions and othermatters, consult with IP Counsel on potential trademark issues, with Securities Counsel on forward lookingstatements and claim substantiation, with Privacy Counsel on privacy and data sharing matters related tomarketing, and with Product Counsel on new concepts and Advance
Client Marketing Team Support
Provide and maintain subject matter expertise on assigned client's loyalty program, promotions, benefits, andacquisition channels.
Develop, maintain and drive implementation of marketing templates, guides and tools with the client marketingteams which address client-specific brand, loyalty programs, promotional financing, strategic focus,communication channels, and advertising style
Training and Communication
Develop templates and conduct training to present marketing legal requirements, changes in law, and applicabletemplates.
Establish effective relationships and collaborate with individuals across assigned client marketing teams toensure they have an understanding
Special Projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5+ years of financial services legal or marketing experience, or AssociatesDegree and a minimum of 8+ years of financial services legal or marketing experience.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant federal and state laws and regulations relating to financial servicesmarketing.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple complex matters and projects simultaneously in a matrixenvironment across competing priorities and across multiple functions and platforms in a fast-paced growthbusiness
Exceptional communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills at all levels fromassociates to senior managers
Strong judgment and ability to understand the balance between business/legal considerations
Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional business partners
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics:
Detail-oriented with an understanding of business systems & processes
Ability to manage a challenging marketing review workload within established timelines while balancing frequentclient expedited requests and other responsibilities
Experience identifying, assessing, and elevating potential legal issues and analyzing limits and restrictions ofmarketing campaigns and impact on processes
Knowledge of Reg. Z, UDAAP/UDAP, CAN SPAM, Dot.Com
Grade/Level: 11
The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
